If you could see chronic illness from the inside…

Here  is chronic pain, chronic fatigue, anxiety and depression from the outside…

I’m doing everything in my power to control what I CAN control, hence my change in diet and back to my yoga routine. I try to smile as much as I can despite how crummy I may feel inside. 

On a more positive note, here are some snapshots from the last couple of days:

Amazing nicoraguan salad
    

Prepping the kale chips for the oven (forgot to take an out of the oven shot before I devoured them all!) this is a tasty treat if you’re craving a salty snack. 
  

Last night we went to my friend Robb’s place to have dinner and play board games (he and I met in university and luckily haven’t lost touch!) We had a steak dinner and enjoyed a couple new games we’d never heard of. Such a great night with a lot of needed laughter 🙂 

On my way home from yoga today I drove by this restaurant that I didn’t know existed – same name as my future sister. I immediately texted my brother about it – now bart and I will have to try out this spot, looks amazing, and I looooooove hot pot (or shabbu shabbu in Japan).

  

Today we did some errands in the afternoon and stopped at the market for lunch. This restaurant is beyond amazing. 

Bart got a tillapia sandwich and it looked amazing. He could only finish half, and since I was starving and hadn’t bought any food yet, I broke my diet and ate the other half. It tasted soooooooo good!!!   

  

Bart should be a professional sleeper – he “napped” for three hours this afternoon lol. I had to wake him up for dinner! Meanwhile I brushed the dog, prepped and cooked dinner and cleaned. I don’t blame him for napping, I’d be wiped too if I was working full time lol. 
  

Tonight’s dinner – grilled chicken cooked in coconut oil and garlic, seasoned with sea salt and pepper; baked acorn squash seasoned with coconut oil, cinnamon and nutmeg (so good! Although Bart didn’t like it); and sautéed broccoli and onions. Not a bad Myers Way meal 🙂 

  
 

I can definitely feel the benefits of the Myers Elimination diet, as well as the yoga. Today I took a “Yang Yin” yoga class which starts out with power yoga for 45 minutes (exhausting) and ends with 45 minutes of heavy stretching (which felt amaaaaazing and I’ll be doing that class again!) 

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! Tomorrow I’m off to Oakville to go for a bike ride with my parentals along the water, then back to Toronto for our softball game. Should be nice and relaxing 🙂
