Today is “World Suicide Prevention” day

As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression, and has for as long as I can remember, if you know someone who’s having a rough time, please reach out and show them you’re there. Just one text, phone call, email or drop in can make all the difference in the world for someone who suffers from a mental illness. In my darkest days in high school, suicide crossed my mind a couple of times, and only because I wanted the black hole to end. Unfortunately, no matter how much I tried, I just couldn’t feel happy, and it turns out, I really had no control over this. Clearly the chemicals in my brain and my hormones are completely off, and I need a little help from the evil pharmaceutical companies to feel “normal”. I have been on antidepressants for the last five years, and they have made all the difference in the world, however, I would love to go off of them as I embark on my more natural treatment protocol for the rest of my illnesses. I tried doing so, and the depression returned like spitfire, SO, I will hold off on that for now!

Lend a hand, tell someone you are thinking of them, tell them you love them, tell them you care, just be there.

If you are feeling down and depressed, and god forbid, ever suicidal, please reach out to someone for help. I am always here, and happy to be a listening ear.
